Possible Performing Idea

Post by Finny570 on Thu Jun 02, 2016 1:09 pm

So I have discussed with Jerome about having an orchestra play our arrangements. And so far I just need to be approved by the directors helping me.

Is what I'd like to know is what is the best order placement for the 4 pieces:

The World Ends with You - Lullaby for You
Ninja Gaiden II - Battling Precariously
Frogger Interactive
and Tales of Symphonia Dawn of the New World - Enlgish Opening.

In placement of No. 1-4.

What do you guys think?

I don't think the performance order is necessary right now as it doesn't make the difference on the overall dynamic, and we are still in the rough-draft of our arrangements. But if were to pick the order right now, I would say this would be the order:

1. ToS2 English Opening - Great as a concert opener, especially when it introduces later musical ideas of the later arrangements (i.e. light motif, bombastic brass section, the idea of urgency and development, etc.)
2. Ninja Gaiden II Battle - A lighter piece for musicians as it's as not technically demanding.
3. TWEWY Lullaby - Perfect as a concert closer, especially when this music was used as the end theme in the actual game! AND It has this message of saying intimately bye to someone, hence somewhat reflecting how the order is in this suite.
4. Frogger Interactive - I would like to place this as the 4th movement and consider it as "bonus" music, considering the nature and the optional audition participation.

Again, this is just my two sense into things. I'll leave the final order up to my music prep. team, who will finalize everything for us.

Alright sounds great! If this does get confirmed from my side the directors may tell me we should do it in a different order but we'll see. I really hope I get this chance to do this. So far working on this has been fun!

OK, this is really sad to say but I am making the choice that this music we are arranging will sadly most likely not be performed. I looked at the pieces carefully this afternoon and and these pieces, Yes even the easiest one(Meloetta's) are very hard for a High School to play them. They can be performed by a High School how ever even advanced classes would surely struggle. I started playing different parts on a Violin today and even violin was in some ways hard. With not simple things an ordinary Advanced High School Music group could do. And even if we started in September and planned on performing in late November or Mid-December this year there is no guarantee that those students would be prepared in time to perform 3-4 pieces that are just a little out of their range.

I will still send the work  to the directors I plan t work with to see what they think of if their students are capable of this work. But I really don't think the 2 groups I plan to work with can do this.

I will still work on this but I would like to point out the performance idea may have to be thrown away. Sorry.
